Andreas has a history of taking apart and/or putting together toys, bikes and model planes, as well as tinkering with computers. After starting his working life with a 3-year stint in tech support, he decided that he didn't want to spend the rest of his days babysitting servers and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. However, an attempt to learn to program in C++ on the side led him to studying Computer Science and Engineering. As a student he was active at UC Merced's MESA Lab, where he gained experience flying drones and also taught other students to fly. He graduated from UC Merced in Spring 2016.
At CITRIS Andreas flies and maintains drones for agricultural and ecological research projects. He also teaches a prep class for the FAA commercial drone pilot license test.
